portrait smallDuring over a decade in journalism, Laura has written for the Evening StandardThe Guardian, The Observer, The Independent and Marie Claire, among other UK publications. She writes a weekly column for mydaily.

She has provided communications consultancy, report and website writing for organisations in the public and voluntary sector. Clients have included the Department of Health, the Mayor of London, Youth Music, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Childhood First, the Care Matters Partnership and the Association of Child Psychotherapists.

She is the co-author of Islamophobia: issues challenges and action (2004) and a contributor to The Search for Common Ground: Muslims, non-Muslims and the UK media (2007), now published as a book, Pointing The Finger: Islam and Muslims in the British Media (pub. Oneworld, May 2011).

Laura trained in journalism at City University, London and at the London Evening Standard. She has a masters degree in criminal justice policy from the London School of Economics and a degree in international studies with political science from the University of Birmingham.
